The Indian cricket team shared a light-hearted moment during a photoshoot ahead of their five-match T20I series against England, set to begin on Wednesday, January 22, in Kolkata. The series will then proceed to Chennai for the second game on January 25, followed by the third match in Rajkot on January 28.

The final two matches are scheduled in Pune and Mumbai on January 31 and February 2, respectively. Ahead of the action, the Men in Blue posed for headshots, exuding a cheerful and relaxed vibe as they enjoyed each other’s company.

The Men in Blue currently hold the top spot in the T20I rankings with 268 points. They showcased impressive form in their last T20I series, securing a 3-1 victory over South Africa in a four-match contest. India and England have faced each other 24 times in T20Is, with India winning 13 matches and England claiming 11 victories.

Their most recent clash occurred in the semi-final of the 2024 T20 World Cup, where India secured a commanding 68-run win. India went on to claim the championship title by defeating South Africa in the final held in Barbados.

Mohammed Shami Set for Comeback in India-England T20I Series

In a significant boost for Indian cricket, Mohammed Shami is poised to return to international action after more than a year in the upcoming five-match T20I series against England. His most recent appearance was in the 2023 ODI World Cup final, where India was defeated by Australia.

In other news, Axar Patel has been appointed vice-captain, while Suryakumar Yadav will remain the team’s captain.
