[WATCH]- Adil Rashid’s Ripper Dismisses Tilak Varma Very Cheaply In IND vs ENG 3rd T20I

Team India’s in-form batter Tilak Varma fell to a sensational delivery from veteran England spinner Adil Rashid during the third T20I at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on Tuesday, January 28. The left-hander was undone by a sharply turning ball that breached his defenses and crashed into the stumps.

Tasked with anchoring the chase after India’s top-order fell despite promising starts, Tilak began cautiously. He broke free with a six off Liam Livingstone after the powerplay. However, Rashid entered the attack in the next over, and despite Tilak and Hardik Pandya rotating the strike with five singles, the spinner had the final say.

Tempted by a short, wide delivery outside off, Tilak attempted a backfoot cut but misjudged the sharp turn, leading to his dismissal. The ball pierced the gap and shattered the stumps, giving England a crucial breakthrough in the run chase.

Tilak Varma fell after making 18 runs from 14 balls, leaving India in deeper trouble at 68-4 after eight overs in the chase.

Tilak Varma Falls for the First Time in Five Matches

Tilak Varma’s dismissal in the third T20I brings an end to his remarkable run of four consecutive unbeaten innings. He remained not out during the latter half of the T20I series against South Africa, scoring back-to-back centuries.

The left-hander also stayed unbeaten while finishing the series opener against England at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. In the second T20I, he guided India to a two-wicket victory in a tense chase in Chennai.

Without the in-form Tilak anchoring the chase, Team India is crumbling under pressure. At the time of writing, the hosts are struggling at 85/5 in the 13th over, with Washington Sundar dismissed for 6 off 15 balls.
