Veteran cricketer Virat Kohli was seen taking photos with players, officials, and ground staff after the Delhi vs Railways Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match concluded on Saturday, February 1. Railways, asked to bat first on Day 1 (Thursday, January 30), managed 241 runs, with Upendra Yadav top-scoring at 95.
In response, Kohli, making his Ranji Trophy return after 12 years, had a tough outing, dismissed for just six runs off 15 balls. However, Delhi captain Ayush Badoni (99) and Sumit Mathur (86) played key roles, guiding the team to 374 runs in their first innings.
Delhi’s bowlers dominated in the second innings, with Shivam Sharma taking five wickets. Railways were bowled out for just 114 on Day 3, allowing Delhi to win by an innings and 19 runs.

Meanwhile, Delhi’s campaign in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy ended in disappointment as they failed to qualify for the knockout stages. Despite putting up a strong fight, Delhi finished third in Group D with 21 points, securing just two wins from their seven matches.
Virat Kohli Set to Return in Upcoming Three-Match ODI Series Against England
Virat Kohli will return to action when India hosts England for a three-match ODI series, starting Thursday, February 6, in Nagpur. The 36-year-old has played 36 ODIs against England, amassing 1,340 runs at an average of 41.87, including three centuries and nine fifties.
After the bilateral series, attention will shift to the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, where India are placed in Group A alongside New Zealand, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. In the 2017 edition of the Champions Trophy, Kohli captained India to the final, where they were defeated by Pakistan.
