India’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, was thrilled to see ODI and Test skipper Rohit Sharma return to form in style. The seasoned opener delivered a stunning performance at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday, February 9, during India’s second ODI against England.
With India needing to chase a 305-run target, the responsibility was on Sharma to give his team a strong start. The experienced batter was also under pressure due to a series of low scores. However, Sharma proved his critics wrong with a brilliant century, scoring 119 off 90 balls with seven sixes and 12 fours.
This innings ended his 487-day wait for an ODI hundred, marking his 32nd ton in the format. Sharing his reaction to the 37-year-old’s stellar innings, Suryakumar posted on his Instagram story:

Rohit Sharma thrilled the audience with his explosive batting display in Cuttack. His brilliant innings came to an end after Adil Rashid took a remarkable catch. Attempting a big shot on the leg side, he fell to Liam Livingstone. As he walked back to the pavilion, the star batter received a standing ovation from the crowd.
