Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and his wife, Utkarsha Pawar, attended the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League clash between Manchester City and Real Madrid. The match took place on Tuesday, February 11, at England’s Etihad Stadium.
In a dramatic encounter, the Spanish giants staged a remarkable comeback, overturning a 2-1 deficit to secure a 3-2 victory over Manchester City in the first leg of their playoff round. Erling Haaland netted twice for the home side, while Kylian Mbappe, Brahim Diaz, and Jude Bellingham scored for Real Madrid.

Ruturaj Gaikwad impresses in Ranji Trophy 2024-25, but Maharashtra misses knockouts
In cricket, Ruturaj Gaikwad last featured in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy. The 28-year-old played three matches, amassing 330 runs at an impressive average of 66, including a century and two half-centuries. However, Maharashtra fell short of a knockout berth, finishing sixth in Group A with only 17 points from seven matches.
Earlier, the right-handed batter captained Maharashtra in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He showcased his brilliance in the second match with an unbeaten 148 against Services but struggled to maintain consistency in the remaining games.
In total, he played nine matches, scoring 194 runs in seven innings at an average of 32.33. Maharashtra’s journey, however, came to an end with a 69-run defeat to Vidarbha in the semi-finals. Ruturaj Gaikwad made his international debut for India in a T20I against Sri Lanka in 2021.
Since then, the opening batter has featured in 23 T20Is, accumulating 633 runs at an average of 39.56. His tally includes four half-centuries and a century, with his highest score being an unbeaten 123. He has also played six ODIs for India, scoring 115 runs, including a half-century.
