For many Pakistan fans, a win against India, regardless of the tournament situation, is a massive source of pride and satisfaction. It's a rivalry that transcends cricket, and victory, even in a losing cause overall, would be cherished.

Semi-Final Qualification Possibilities
The qualification scenario for the semi-finals remains straightforward for India and New Zealand. A victory in their next respective matches against Pakistan and Bangladesh will confirm their places in the knockout stage. However, even if either team loses, they will still have another chance to qualify when they face each other in the final group-stage encounter.
On the other hand, the situation is more challenging for Pakistan and Bangladesh. Their upcoming matches are must-win encounters, as a loss would likely eliminate them from contention. Even a win will not guarantee a semi-final spot but will keep them in the race.
A particularly intriguing possibility arises if Pakistan defeats India and Bangladesh overcomes New Zealand. In this scenario, the February 27 match between Pakistan and Bangladesh would act as a virtual quarter-final. Additionally, if New Zealand loses both of its matches while Pakistan beats Bangladesh but falls to India, three teams (New Zealand, Pakistan, and Bangladesh) will be tied at two points each. In this case, the second semi-finalist will be determined based on net run rate.
India’s Performance Against Bangladesh
India began their Champions Trophy campaign on a strong note, defeating Bangladesh by six wickets. Chasing 229 runs, the Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, provided a solid 69-run start. However, a few quick wickets left India struggling at 144/4.
Gill’s exceptional century and KL Rahul’s composed innings guided the team to victory. Mohammed Shami’s five-wicket haul and Towhid Hridoy’s resilient 154-run partnership for Bangladesh were key moments in the game. With this win, India now shifts focus to their upcoming clash against Pakistan.
