Virat Kohli Breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s Record In IND vs PAK 2025 Champions Trophy Clash

Former India captain Virat Kohli has reached another remarkable milestone in his illustrious career. The star batter achieved 14,000 runs in ODI cricket during India’s 2025 Champions Trophy clash against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, February 23.

Kohli needed just 15 runs to reach the landmark before the match and accomplished it in style with a sublime four between mid-off and cover off Haris Rauf in the 13th over of India’s chase. He set a new record as the fastest player to reach this milestone, achieving the feat in just 287 innings.

He surpassed Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who took 350 innings to reach the same mark. Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara, who reached the milestone in 378 innings, now ranks third on the elite list.

Notably, Virat Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most centuries in ODI cricket. He achieved this milestone by scoring his 50th century during India’s 2023 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

“I’m doing bhangra after the game!” – Harbhajan backs Kohli for century in IND vs PAK 2025

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh predicted that Virat Kohli would score a century in the 2025 Champions Trophy clash against Pakistan. He added that he would celebrate the feat with a bhangra after the match.

Highlighting Kohli’s strong backing from the entire nation, the cricketer-turned-commentator shared his thoughts on his YouTube channel (via News 18):

“I’m going to make a big prediction here. How about Virat Kohli getting 100 versus Pakistan? Yeah, so no matter how his last 4 months are gone, people will obviously remember if you go on to get 100 tomorrow. So come on, Cheeku, the whole nation is behind you. I am hoping that you get 100, and I’m going to do bhangra after the game now.”

Kohli struggled in India’s opening match against Bangladesh, managing only 22 runs. He will aim to bounce back in the crucial clash against Pakistan.
