SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) leg-spinner Rahul Chahar recently shared an interesting story behind his eagle tattoo after joining the team camp for IPL 2025. Several players, including Chahar, Harshal Patel, and Abhinav Manohar, have linked up with the franchise as preparations for the upcoming season are in full swing.
SRH’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle posted a video featuring Chahar, where he spoke about the significance of his tattoo. The leg-spinner revealed that he got the eagle tattoo after the conclusion of the previous IPL season. Interestingly, he later became a part of the SRH squad, a franchise that also features an eagle in its branding.
Speaking about this coincidence, Chahar said, “So, I made this tattoo after the last IPL. It’s an eagle. SRH also has the same. So, maybe it was meant to happen.”
Chahar’s Journey from Punjab Kings to SRH
Rahul Chahar played for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the previous IPL season but was released ahead of the 2025 auction. SunRisers Hyderabad then acquired him for ₹3.20 crore during the mega auction, strengthening their spin department for the upcoming season. Chahar, known for his wicket-taking ability in the middle overs, will look to make a significant impact for his new franchise.

SunRisers Hyderabad will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on March 23 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The two teams last met in the Qualifier 2 of the previous season, where SRH emerged victorious and advanced to the final, only to be defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
