Virat Kohli struggled with the bat in India’s 2025 Champions Trophy clash against New Zealand in Dubai on Sunday, March 2. The star batter was dismissed for just 11 off 14 balls after a spectacular catch by Glenn Phillips at point, leaving India at 30/3.

The wicket fell in the seventh over when Matt Henry delivered a short ball wide outside off. Kohli attempted a cut shot, but Phillips leaped and grabbed a stunning one-handed catch. Kohli was left in disbelief as he walked back to the pavilion.

Virat Kohli had earlier scored an unbeaten 100 off 111 balls in his previous match against Pakistan. The 36-year-old will be disappointed for not continuing his form ahead of the semi-finals.

New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips took a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss Virat Kohli for 11 off 14 balls in the 2025 Champions Trophy clash against India in Dubai on March 2. Kohli’s wife, Anushka Sharma, present at the stadium, looked visibly stunned by the BlackCaps all-rounder’s effort.

Batting first, India struggled early, losing openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill within the first six overs. Phillips then delivered another big blow by removing the dangerous Kohli with a breathtaking catch.

In the seventh over, Kohli attempted a cut shot off Matt Henry, seemingly making good contact. However, Phillips shocked everyone by leaping at backward point and grabbing a sensational catch. Anushka was left in disbelief and was seen placing her hand on her forehead in reaction.
