Indian opener Prithvi Shaw was recently spotted spending time with former cricketers MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina at the sangeet ceremony of Rishabh Pant’s sister, Sakshi Pant. The event took place in Mussoorie on Tuesday, March 11.
Shaw shared an Instagram story featuring a picture with the two cricket legends, along with their wives. Showing fans a peek into the sangeet celebrations, here’s what the 25-year-old posted:
Sakshi is set to tie the knot with Ankit Chaudhary, a businessman based in London. Their wedding is reportedly scheduled for Wednesday, March 12. Rishabh Pant, who was part of India’s 2025 Champions Trophy-winning squad, traveled to Mussoorie to celebrate with his family after the final in Dubai.
Prithvi Shaw remained unsold at the IPL 2025 auction
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is set to commence on March 22. However, Prithvi Shaw will not be seen in action, as he went unsold at the two-day mega auction last November. After spending seven years with Delhi Capitals (DC), the franchise decided to release him ahead of the auction.
Shaw entered the bidding with a base price of ₹75 lakh but did not attract any bids. The opening batter had a disappointing season last year, scoring 198 runs in eight matches at an average of 24.75. Once regarded as India’s next batting sensation, Shaw now finds himself in an uncertain phase of his career.
He was dropped from Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy 2024-25 squad after their first two matches and was also overlooked for the 2024 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Shaw was part of Mumbai’s squad for the 2024 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy but struggled to make an impact in the T20 competition.
While Mumbai emerged as champions, he managed to score only 197 runs in nine innings at an average of 21.88.
