Rinku has been a key performer in KKR’s middle order in recent seasons. Recognizing his impact, the franchise retained him for ₹13 crore before the mega auction last December, making him the most expensive retention in KKR’s history.
KKR shared a video on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, offering a glimpse of the team’s Holi celebrations. The clip featured Rinku Singh joyfully dancing and playing with colors, capturing the festive spirit. The post was captioned:

“KKR managed their retentions brilliantly” – Aakash Chopra ahead of IPL 2025
Former cricketer Aakash Chopra recently analyzed the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad ahead of IPL 2025. He noted that the defending champions aimed to retain most of their core players but were only partially successful, as they lost key stars like Shreyas Iyer and Mitchell Starc.
Sharing his thoughts in a video on his YouTube channel, ‘Aakash Chopra’, he stated:
“They were trying a lot to retain their core, and I think they have been fairly successful in retaining that core. And They would have been unhappy that Shreyas Iyer and Mitchell Starc left, but they have kept most of the others. They did the retentions very well and spent a lot of money to bring Venkatesh Iyer.”
He further continued:
“They have an explosive middle order. Rinku, Ramandeep and Russell have an incredible power of finishing matches. Ramandeep’s recent form has also been very good, and Rinku Singh will be very determined to do well as he hasn’t been getting too many opportunities, and Russell always does well. They might be the best in IPL 2025 at those numbers – five, six and seven.”
