Speculation about an engagement between rising Indian cricketer Rinku Singh and Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj spread across social media platforms. However, Priya’s father, Tufani Saroj, has firmly denied the rumors, calling them baseless and adding a fresh layer of intrigue to the chatter.

Rinku Singh has rapidly established himself in Indian cricket, amassing 562 runs across formats since his debut in August 2023. He played a pivotal role in Kolkata Knight Riders’ championship-winning campaign and was among the reserve players for the World Cup-winning team led by Rohit Sharma.

Tufani Saroj Clarifies: Priya Saroj in Thiruvananthapuram for Official Work

Tufani Saroj, a veteran politician and three-time MP currently serving as the MLA for Kerakat, Jaunpur, refuted claims about an engagement, stating it never happened. He also clarified that Priya is presently in Thiruvananthapuram for work, dismissing the engagement reports as false.

“Priya is in Thiruvananthapuram at the moment for some work and no, her engagement with Rinku Singh has not happened. Yes, the talks are on between the families but the news of engagement is completely wrong,” Tufani told India TV Digital.

Priya Saroj: Lawyer Turned First-Time Member of Parliament

The revelation follows rumors of an engagement between Rinku Singh and Priya Saroj. Reports claimed that Rinku’s family approached Priya’s brother-in-law with a marriage proposal. However, neither Rinku nor Priya has addressed the speculation, keeping fans curious about the truth.

Priya Saroj, a lawyer by profession and a first-time MP representing Uttar Pradesh’s Machhlishahr constituency, secured victory in the 2024 elections with a margin of 35,000 votes. At the age of 26, she hails from a politically prominent family but initially aimed to pursue a career as a judge before stepping into politics.
