Virat Kohli, a star India batsman, has commented on whether he will go for another Australia tour or not. Australia is one of the most challenging places for any team to go and play cricket. If there’s been a team which has not only challenged Australia in Australia, but also won the test series twice consecutively, it has been India. One of the biggest contributors to these wins for India has been Kohli. If not from the bat on every occasion, Kohli’s no bowing down attitude instilled in the Indian team helped win against the mighty Aussies.

Virat Kohli has played a total of 18 test matches in Australia, and in 34 innings, he has scored 1542 runs, averaging 46.72. In the recent Border Gavasker Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, Kohli played 5 games, and in nine innings, he only scored 190 runs averaging 23.75. Even though he was not in touch, Kohli managed one century during the series in the second innings of the first match.
Australian fast bowlers have been smacked by Virat Kohli in every direction of the park. In fact, a dedicated TV show on Amazon Prime, The Test, focusing on Australia’s cricketing journey in the recent past, showcased Kohli as one of the most feared and also respected cricketers in the Australian camp. Justin Langer, former head coach of the Australian cricket team has called Kohli as the batsman in the world. The same feelings are shared by many current and former Australian cricketers as well.
While fans would love to see Kohli back in the Australian stadiums belting the ball around the park, it is unlikely that it will happen. The next time BGT happens, it will happen in India in 2026-27.
