Mahendra Singh Dhoni or MSD in short has the reputation of being cool and calm under pressure. People often take tips from Dhoni about how he manages his mindset when things take a tough turn. But if you have paid close attention to the career of MSD, you would know that he hasn’t always been a calm personality. One of the instances that comes to mind whenever you think of MSD losing cool is the one when he walked into the ground to argue with the umpires over their decision in an IPL (Indian Premier League) match.
MSD Calls Walking Out to Field in Anger a Big Mistake
MS Dhoni recently said in a conversation with Mastercard India that one of his big mistakes is walking out to the field in one of the IPL games in anger. The match MSD is talking about is the one where CSK was batting second against RR (Rajasthan Royals) in 2019 and CSK needed 8 off 3 deliveries.
When asked if he has ever lost his cool, MSD said, “Yes, lots of times – One of the IPL games, I just walked out to the field — That was the big mistake.” Take a look at what MSD said below as well as the video of what happened.

Because the leg umpire changed the decision of a no ball to a regular ball, MSD was seen walking out on the field. This was very much unexpected from captain cool. Additionally, MSD could have not really forced the umpires to change the decision, as the leg umpire has the final say over whether a ball is above the waist or not when he is deciding for no-ball. MSD has called this instance a big mistake, and cricket fans would certain agree with him on that. It was one of the rare moments when MSD lost his cool.
