[WATCH]- Campbell Kellaway Takes A Spectacular One-Handed Catch In WA vs VIC Sheffield Shield 2024-25 Match

Australian first-class cricketer Campbell Kellaway pulled off a stunning one-handed catch during the Sheffield Shield 2024-25 match between Victoria and Western Australia at the WACA in Perth on Tuesday (March 18).

The Victoria opener made a full stretch and grabbed the ball with his left hand, astonishing the commentators, with one calling it the “catch of a lifetime.” The dismissal took place in the 75th over when Victoria captain Will Sutherland bowled a short-pitched delivery to Cameron Gannon.

Attempting a hook shot, Gannon aimed to clear the boundary but failed to make proper contact. Positioned at deep square leg, Kellaway initially seemed to misjudge the trajectory but managed to secure the ball with a single hand. Replays confirmed it was a clean catch, sending Gannon back to the pavilion for 19.

Campbell Kellaway played a remarkable knock, scoring a resilient 165 in Victoria’s second innings

The 22-year-old was Victoria’s standout performer in the second innings, scoring a crucial 165 off 338 balls to guide his team to 370/9. Blake Macdonald also made a valuable contribution, hitting 60 off 84 deliveries with 11 boundaries.

Western Australia had initially dominated with the ball, dismissing Victoria for 197 in the first innings, with only Oliver Peake (52) crossing fifty. Spinner Corey Rocchiccioli led the attack with a five-wicket haul for the hosts.

However, WA struggled to capitalize on their bowling effort, managing only an 11-run lead. Connolly, who scored 56 in the second innings, had made the same in the first.

Chasing 382, Western Australia lost Sam Whiteman early. While Cartwright, Connolly, Jayden Goodwin (46), and Joel Paris (45) fought hard to keep them in the game, they eventually fell short by 34 runs. Victoria’s Will Sutherland and Peter Siddle claimed four wickets each to seal the win.
