[WATCH] Sanju Samson Excited To Welcome Key RR Pacer Ahead Of IPL 2025

Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson looked delighted upon meeting veteran pacer Sandeep Sharma during the team’s practice session ahead of the upcoming IPL season. Samson joined the RR camp on Monday, March 17.

As Sharma approached him, Samson, who was standing alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, expressed his joy at reuniting with the experienced bowler, saying:

“Mera bhai aa gaya [My brother is here].”

Sharma delivered an impressive performance in the previous IPL season, claiming 13 wickets in 10 matches with an economy rate of 8.18. Under the new IPL retention rules, the inaugural champions were able to retain him as an uncapped player for ₹4 crore.

Meanwhile, Samson suffered a finger injury while batting in India’s final T20I of the five-match home series against England last month. He underwent surgery and completed his rehabilitation at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

“Sanju Samson is the Present and Future of T20″ – Aakash Chopra on RR Squad for IPL 2025

Analyzing Rajasthan Royals’ strengths, former India opener Aakash Chopra highlighted that the team has Sanju Samson, whom he considers the present and future of T20 cricket. He also emphasized that RR possesses a strong core of talented Indian batters, including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, and Riyan Parag.

Discussing the team’s batting lineup, Chopra shared his thoughts in a video on his YouTube channel:

“They have the Indian team’s present and future. Sanju Samson is T20’s present and future. Yashasvi Jaiswal is your present and future in Tests. Dhruv Jurel is the future. You can look towards Riyan Parag from that point of view.”

“So the Indian batters they have are all very, very promising, and that is thumbs up with both hands. They are very good. They have little international experience, but they are primarily young. I won’t say they are inexperienced but they are not major superstars. All of them are hungry. They are all promising and young.”
