Former CSK captain MS Dhoni was spotted feeding a biscuit to a dog during a practice session ahead of IPL 2025. The franchise shared a video of the moment on social media, delighting fans, while two of his teammates looked on.

Known for his love of animals, Dhoni is preparing for his 18th IPL season. The Ranchi-born cricketer stepped down as CSK captain before IPL 2024, passing the leadership to Ruturaj Gaikwad. Despite this, Dhoni remains a record-holder in IPL history, having led CSK to five titles, a feat shared with Mumbai Indians.

MS Dhoni was retained by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction for ₹4 crore. CSK’s next match is scheduled for March 23, 2025, against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

“There was a time I stepped onto the field, and it turned out to be a big mistake”- MS Dhoni

In a recent interaction with Mandira Bedi, featured in a video by Mastercard, MS Dhoni admitted to losing his cool multiple times. He recalled the IPL 2019 incident against Rajasthan Royals when he stepped onto the field to confront the umpire. Dhoni said:

“Lots of times, lots of times. One of the times, I walked out on the field, it was a big mistake. But other than that also there have been instances where something gets triggered because we play the sport where the stakes are very high, you are supposed to win every game and manage a lot of things.”

“That’s why I said when you are not happy about something or angry or frustrated, keep your mouth shut, try getting away from it for a little while, take deeper breaths. It’s similar to handling pressure, if you can cut yourself off from the result aspect. Your emotion should never affect your decision making.”
