[Watch] Ishan Kishan Hugs The Pitch Curator Following His Stunning Century

Ishan Kishan, Indian cricketer and SRH (Sunrisers Hyderabad) batsman scored a quick 100 on Sunday’s match against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Kishan has been out of the Indian cricket team for some time now. The last time Kishan was under the public’s eye was during the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024.

During the 2024 season, Kishan was playing for Mumbai Indians (MI). However, for 2025, MI let Kishan go and SRH bagged the lefty batsman for Rs 11.25 crore.

Ishan Kishan Hugs Pitch Curator Post Century

Ishan Kishan was seen hugging the pitch curator after the match was over. The curator plays an important role in complying with the host team’s requirements. This gives the host teams an edge over the competition, as they know what to expect from the pitch. Players and management have often been spotted having conversations with the pitch curator.

Ishan’s 106 Not Out Allowed SRH to Score 286 Runs

SRH has picked up right where it last left off. In the 2024 season as well SRH scored the highest totals by any team. In IPL 2025, just in the second match of the season, SRH scored 286. This was possible due to Ishan Kishan’s 106 not out from 47 deliveries in which he hit six maximums (sixes) and eleven boundaries (fours).

Jofra Archer was hit for 76 runs in his four overs. While Archer managed to bag two wickets, his economy of 19 runs per over didn’t exactly help the team. Apart from Archer, every other baller also got hit. Nitish Rana bowled just one over and had the best economy amongst the bowlers (nine runs per over).

SRH Won Comfortably

SRH won the game quite comfortably. Rajasthan Royals scored 242 after the end of 20 overs, missing the target by a huge margin. This will definitely affect RR’s net run rate in the points table.

Ishan Kishan’s innings will put him in the spotlight again for entry into the Indian cricket team. Kishan was a regular for the Indian side up till the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup.
