[WATCH]- Virat Kohli Jumps On Josh Hazlewood To Celebrate Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Wicket In IPL 2025

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli excitedly leaped onto pacer Josh Hazlewood as they celebrated Ruturaj Gaikwad’s wicket in style. The moment took place during their IPL 2025 clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.

Kohli was visibly thrilled as Hazlewood delivered a fiery spell with the ball. The wicket fell in the second over of CSK’s innings, with Josh Hazlewood sharing the new ball alongside the returning Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Gaikwad mistimed a pull shot, resulting in a top edge.

Manoj Bhandage sprinted in from deep fine leg to complete the catch, sending the CSK skipper back for a duck. This was also Hazlewood’s second wicket of the over, having earlier dismissed Rahul Tripathi, who chipped one to mid-wicket. You can watch the video here:

The 34-year-old was among the costliest overseas players in the auction, with Royal Challengers securing him for ₹12.50 crore. The right-arm pacer also delivered an impressive performance in the IPL 2025 opener against Kolkata Knight Riders, claiming figures of 4-0-22-2 as RCB secured a seven-wicket victory.

Kohli scores 31 as RCB post 196 against CSK

Virat Kohli struggled to find his rhythm against the Super Kings as the spin trio of Noor Ahmad, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja kept him under pressure. Noor eventually dismissed the former RCB captain for 31 off 30 balls.

Despite his struggles, RCB managed to post a formidable 196 in 20 overs. Phil Salt and Devdutt Padikkal provided a strong start, while skipper Rajat Patidar’s 32-ball 51 gave the team crucial momentum. In the final overs, Tim David smashed three consecutive sixes off Sam Curran to propel RCB to 196/7.

Meanwhile, CSK was in deep trouble, having lost six wickets for just 80 runs at the time of writing, staring at a heavy defeat.
