Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal praised head coach Rahul Dravid for his significant impact on both his personal life and cricketing journey. The 23-year-old described Dravid’s presence as a “privilege” and highlighted how his guidance played a key role in the development of both individual players and the team as a whole.
Jaiswal also mentioned that the 52-year-old coach was “supportive” and “caring,” and consistently instilled confidence in the players.
“He is supportive, caring, and always looking out for everyone. He instills confidence in players, reassures them they’re on the right path, and offers guidance that’s essential for growth—both individually and as a team. He is an incredible human being. Having someone like Rahul Dravid Sir in this era is a privilege,” Jaiswal told JioHotstar.
Yashasvi Jaiswal further shared that there was much to learn from Dravid’s behavior off the field. He noted that the former India head coach’s “grace, composure, and humility” served as a source of inspiration.
“Watching him up close is a learning experience. His grace, composure, and humility are qualities that truly inspire. There’s so much more to learn from how he conducts himself off the field,” the southpaw said.
Rahul Dravid makes his comeback to Rajasthan Royals as head coach after a nine-year gap
Following the conclusion of his tenure as the head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team in June 2024, Rahul Dravid took over as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals in September 2024. He rejoined the franchise after nine years, having previously been involved with the team as a player from 2011 to 2013 and as a mentor during the 2014 and 2015 IPL seasons.
“I am pleased to be returning to the franchise I have called ‘home’ for a number of years in the past. After the World Cup, I feel it’s the ideal time for me to take on another challenge, and the Royals is the perfect place to do that.”
”A lot of hard work and deliberations from Manoj, Jake, Kumar and the team has gone into the progression that the franchise has made over the past few years,” Dravid said in a statement released by RR.
