Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was spotted having fun with an automated robo dog camera ahead of his team’s IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Monday, April 14, at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
The former India captain was seen laughing with a CSK support staff member after playfully tipping over the robo camera. It seems the camera caught Dhoni’s attention due to his known fondness for dogs. Reports suggest that the Ranchi-born wicketkeeper-batter has five dogs at home. You can watch the video here:

As of now, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are at the bottom of the IPL 2025 points table, occupying the 10th position. They have played six matches, winning only one and losing five, with a net run rate (NRR) of -1.245.
MS Dhoni Takes Over as Chennai Super Kings’ Captain Midway Through IPL 2025
Dhoni was named the captain of Chennai Super Kings midway through IPL 2025 after regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out for the rest of the season due to a fractured elbow. Prior to this, Dhoni had stepped down as CSK’s permanent captain in favor of Gaikwad before the 2024 season.
As one of the most successful captains in IPL history, MS Dhoni faces a significant challenge with CSK currently sitting at the bottom of the IPL standings, having secured just two points. The team has won only one match and lost five so far.
The two-time World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy winner will be relying on his vast experience, strategic mindset, and ability to motivate his players to turn the team’s fortunes around.
At 43, Dhoni is the oldest player in IPL 2025, and his batting performances have sparked mixed opinions across the country. He has averaged 34 in six innings for CSK this season, while batting lower down the order.
