Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), a franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has reportedly filed a lawsuit against ride-sharing company Uber over an advertisement featuring Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Travis Head. According to a report by *Live Law*, the legal action was taken specifically against Uber Moto.
The ad in question, titled ‘Baddies in Bengaluru ft. Travis Head’, shows the Australian opener entering a stadium—seemingly in Bengaluru—before defacing a ‘Bengaluru v Hyderabad’ banner with spray paint, altering it to read ‘Royally Challenged Bengaluru’.
Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited filed the case in the Delhi High Court, alleging that the ad tarnishes RCB’s trademark and reputation. Advocate Shwetasree Majumder, representing RCB, also pointed out that Uber Moto, a commercial sponsor of SRH, used a “deceptive variant” of the RCB name, which she argued was unauthorized and unlawful.
“You had millions of creative ways to do advertisement. Did you have to do it using my trademark? And using someone who was earlier with me? Does parity, fair use defence lies in the mouth of Uber Moto?” the lawyer was quoted as saying by Live Law.

RCB are set to take on SRH at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday, May 13, as part of the ongoing IPL 2025 season. So far, the two sides have experienced contrasting fortunes. RCB have had a strong start, winning four of their six matches and sitting in the top half of the points table with eight points. Their next fixture is against Punjab Kings at home on Friday, April 18.
In contrast, SRH have had a tough run and currently occupy the ninth spot. With just two wins and four losses from six games, they have managed only four points. Their upcoming match is against Mumbai Indians on Thursday, April 17. Notably, this will be the only league-stage meeting between RCB and SRH this season.
