One year ago New Zealand stunned India and defeated them in the world cup semi-finals. The match was played during the course of two days due to rain in Manchester. Jimmy Neesham trolled the Indian fans who thought they were going to win easily after New Zealand were 211 for five before rain interrupted the match.
The New Zealand all-rounder who was part of the semis took a sarcastic dig over people who thought India had the upper hand. Recently, a media outlet recalled the semifinal clash between India and New Zealand from the World Cup last year.
Neesham trolls India
Neesham replied to an ESPNcricinfo post and tweeted, “I think you mean people who can’t read a pitch thought India had the upper hand when play ended with a laughing emoji at the end”.

The New Zealand team had eventually set India a target of 240 runs to reach the finals. Unfortunately, the top order of India failed as Matt Henry and Trent Boult took the match away from India in the initial overs. Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni registered an important partnership during the latter stages of the chase.
Jadeja was in his element and at one point it looked India will chase down the target. Ultimately it wasn’t to be as Jadeja was dismissed on 77 when India required 42 from the last four overs. The former India skipper was the last hope for India as he tried taking the chase deep and win the match in the last over.
Then against the run of play, a superb direct-hit from Martin Guptill ended Dhoni’s innings and India suffered a heartbreak. In the end, Virat Kohli’s team fell short by 18 runs and their hopes of winning the World Cup ended.
