The Rajasthan Royals’ captain, Riyan Parag, praised the young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi for his blistering century. The 14-year-old stormed in on the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur with a bang against the Gujarat Titans, clocking the second-fastest hundred in IPL history.

At Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored a century against Gujarat Titans (GT) and set a record. This fine performance made him the youngest male cricketer to score a T20 hundred, breaking the 18-year-old record set by Vijay Hari Zol in 2013.

Vaibhav was not only aggressive in his batting but also extraordinary in timing; needing only 17 balls to notch fifty and finishing with a hundred in another 18 balls. His 101 off 38 balls helped Rajasthan Royals chase what was supposed to be a huge target in just 15.5 overs and end their five-match losing streak in style. Of all the fastest centuries in the IPL, Vaibhav’s is now second only to Chris Gayle’s unprecedented 30-ball effort for RCB in 2013.

Riyan Parag Lauds Vaibhav Suryavanshi Innings

Riyan Parag, captain of the Rajasthan Royals, was gushing about Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the teenage phenom who caught everyone off guard with a scorching century. The 14-year-old prodigy lit up the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur against the Gujarat Titans, smashing the second-fastest hundred in IPL history.

“Getting a hundred in the first year when you are 14 years old—that is something unheard of; you don’t hear that anywhere in the world, any league, any country, or whatever it is. To see what he can do in practice and coming out here, like I said earlier, hitting against world-class bowlers like Rashid or Siraj. Coming out and doing what he did is just something you don’t see every day.” Riyan Parag said.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 14-year-old Rajasthan Royals player, made the fastest-ever IPL century off 35 balls and became the youngest player to hit a T20 century, helping Rajasthan break their five-match losing streak and stay alive in the IPL 2025 playoffs.
