IPL 2025: ‘RCB vs CSK In Bengaluru Hits Different’: Virat Kohli On The Fierce Rivalry
Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli discussed the intense competition between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), highlighting the special vibe of playing this crucial game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The two legendary teams will meet again in the IPL 2025 season, a fixture that has always delivered unforgettable moments throughout the years.

Having been part of this rivalry since the inaugural IPL season, Kohli shared his thoughts on what sets the encounter apart, especially when held in Bengaluru. During an appearance on ‘18 Calling 18’ on JioHotstar, the star batter highlighted how a large number of CSK supporters travel to the Chinnaswamy, often occupying an entire section of the stadium.

Virat Kohli described the electric atmosphere during these clashes as the most thrilling he has ever experienced on a cricket field. He stated:

“I would say one team that, historically, I’ve felt we’ve had the most intense games with is Chennai Super Kings in Bengaluru. Because in Chennai, of course, there are Chennai fans—it’s just yellow and CSK fans everywhere.”

”But to play against CSK in Bengaluru is something else, because a lot of Chennai fans come to Bengaluru. CSK fans travel in huge numbers, so they buy tickets very early and take over a section of the stadium.”

“So, there’s an intense atmosphere inside the stadium in Bengaluru when playing against CSK. And then, obviously, the game also gets very intense and competitive. That environment is the most exciting I’ve been a part of,” said Kohli.

RCB Aim for Table Lead in Showdown with CSK

The upcoming match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday, May 3, holds great significance for the home side as they aim to return to the top of the points table. Meanwhile, Chennai, having been eliminated from the tournament, will be playing to restore pride.

Earlier this season, RCB ended their losing streak in Chennai by securing a dominant victory over CSK at the Chepauk Stadium.
