IPL 2025: [Watch] Jofra Archer Imitates Jadeja’s Bowling Action During Rajasthan Royals’ Practice

Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Jofra Archer was recently spotted imitating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling action. During a training session in the ongoing IPL 2025, Archer switched things up by delivering a few left-arm spin deliveries.

Archer not only copied Jadeja’s bowling style but also celebrated just like him. Rajasthan Royals posted the fun video on Instagram, showing Archer’s playful act as a tribute to the experienced spinner.

Jofra Archer began his second spell with Rajasthan Royals after being bought for ₹12.50 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The 30-year-old has taken 11 wickets in 12 matches this season, with an economy rate of 9.47. Rajasthan Royals have had a disappointing season and failed to make it to the playoffs.

With just three wins and ten losses in 13 games, they are currently ninth in the points table. Led by Sanju Samson, RR will aim to finish their campaign on a positive note with a win in their last league game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday, May 20.

R Ashwin questions Jadeja’s exclusion, backs him as India’s next Test skipper

With Rohit Sharma retiring from Test cricket, India are looking for a new captain. While Shubman Gill is seen as the leading contender, R Ashwin feels Ravindra Jadeja should also be considered. Ashwin suggested Gill be made vice-captain, with a senior player like Jadeja or Bumrah leading the side.

“First of all, everyone is saying that Gill is the captain. Everyone is going in that direction. But there is a loud option in Jasprit Bumrah, and why do we forget about Ravindra Jadeja. If you are willing to go for a new person as captain, I would say why not make him [Gill] an understudy of an experienced guy for two years before handing him the job on a full-time basis.”
