The latest Indian badminton star PV Sindhu has been showered with accolades from all the corners ever since she created history by winning silver medal at the recently concluded Rio Olympics.
Continuing the windfall, cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar congratulated Sindhu on her incredible feat and promised to gift her a BMW car. Four years back, Sachin had also presented Saina Nehwal a BMW after she fetched a bronze medal at the London Olympics.
On her return to India, Sindhu also received a celebrity”s welcome in Hyderabad as she took a victory ride on an open bus top. The BMW which will be presented by the Master blaster will be sponsored by Hyderabad District Badminton Association President V. Chamundeshwarnath.
He had earlier said “I had announced a BMW car to anyone from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh who would win a medal at Rio. He also added that he was glad to present it to Sindhu. It is surely a great moment for the shuttlern and she truly deserves all the rewards. Sindhu and Sakshi Malik (Bronze medallist in Wrestling) made sure that the country had something to cheer about what was otherwise a disappointing Olympic campaign for the nation.
Sachin Tendulkar was one of the four Goodwill Ambassadors of the Rio Olympics 2016 along with Shooter Abhinav Bindra, musician AR Rahman and Bollywood star Salman khan.
