South African and CSK batter Dewald Brevis shared a picture with Indian cricketer Tilak Varma on social media on Thursday, June 19, from the Utilita Bowl in Hampshire. Tilak is set to play for Hampshire in their upcoming four County Championship matches, beginning with an away game against Essex at Chelmsford on June 22.

Brevis and Tilak built a strong bond while playing together for Mumbai Indians between 2022 and 2024. To welcome Tilak to England ahead of his county debut, Brevis shared a photo of them on his Instagram story. You can view the picture here:

Meanwhile, Dewald Brevis is currently representing Hampshire in the ongoing 2025 Vitality Blast. He has played six matches so far, scoring 117 runs in four innings at an impressive average of 39.00 and a striking rate of 174.62, which includes a fifty.

Tilak Varma’s International Career Reaches 29 Matches In Limited-Overs Formats

Tilak Varma made his international debut for India in a T20I match against the West Indies in 2023. Since then, the 22-year-old has featured in 25 T20Is, amassing 749 runs in 24 innings at an impressive average of 49.93 and a strike rate of 155.07. His T20I record includes three fifties and two centuries, with a top score of an unbeaten 120 off just 47 balls against South Africa at the Wanderers in 2024.

In the ODI format, Tilak has represented India in four matches, scoring 68 runs at an average of 22.66 and a strike rate of 57.14, which includes one half-century. On the domestic front, Tilak has played 18 first-class matches, scoring 1,204 runs at an average of 50.16, including five centuries and four fifties.

In List A cricket, he has featured in 36 games, accumulating 1,494 runs at an average of 48.19 and a strike rate of 94.79, which includes eight half-centuries and five centuries.
