Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Dewald Brevis produced a breathtaking moment in the field with a remarkable catch at the boundary to dismiss Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) Shashank Singh on April 30 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Earlier, with CSK opting to bat first, Brevis walked in after the team stumbled to 48/3 at the end of the powerplay. Teaming up with Sam Curran, he played a composed innings, contributing 32 runs off 26 balls in a vital 78-run stand off 50 deliveries, before losing his wicket.
However, it was his brilliance in the field that stole the spotlight. In the 18th over of PBKS’s chase, Shashank Singh had just hammered a four and a six in successive balls and attempted another big shot. But this time, he failed to clear the ropes.
Brevis, positioned near the boundary, showed incredible balance and presence of mind as he juggled the ball three times while maintaining control and spatial awareness, eventually completing a spectacular catch that left the crowd in awe. You can watch the video here:

Chennai Super Kings fall to Punjab Kings again, marking their fifth home loss of the season
After being asked to bat first, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were dismissed for 190 runs in 19.2 overs. Sam Curran led the charge with a blistering 88 off 47 balls, while Dewald Brevis chipped in with 32 off 26. The highlight of the innings, however, was Yuzvendra Chahal’s stunning hat-trick in the 19th over, which halted CSK’s momentum.
In response, Punjab Kings (PBKS) lost an opener early, but solid half-centuries from Prabhsimran Singh (54 off 36) and skipper Shreyas Iyer (72 off 41) steered them to a comfortable four-wicket victory, with a well-paced chase and calm composure. With this result, PBKS completed a season double over CSK.
