The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has reportedly issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to opening batter Prithvi Shaw, allowing him to represent a different team in the upcoming 2025–26 domestic season. Shaw, who debuted for Mumbai in 2017, last appeared for the team during the 2024 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
As per The Indian Express, Shaw had formally requested the NOC via email, expressing his gratitude to the MCA for the support and opportunities over the years. He described representing Mumbai as a privilege and an important chapter in his cricketing journey.
“I sincerely thank the Mumbai Cricket Association for the opportunities and constant support. It’s been an honor to represent MCA, and I’m truly grateful for the experience and guidance. This decision was made with deep respect and careful thought.”
According to the report, the MCA has approved the No Objection Certificate for the aggressive opening batter. In an official statement, the association stated:
“The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) would like to inform that cricketer Prithvi Shaw had formally requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to represent another state as a professional player in the upcoming domestic season. After due consideration, the MCA has granted the NOC.”
