[WATCH]- Cheteshwar Pujara’s Doppelganger Goes Viral During ENG vs IND 2025

Former India cricketer Dinesh Karthik introduced fans to Cheteshwar Pujara’s lookalike during the ongoing England-India Test series. As part of the commentary panel for the tour, Karthik posted a humorous video on his Instagram account showcasing Pujara alongside his doppelganger, sparking laughs among viewers.

“What I’m going to show you right now is one cricketer and another person who looks so similar, from a completely different part of the globe. Let me show you all. This is Cheteshwar Pujara, Indian cricketer, and a man who’s into broadcasting recently, and have a look at this, this is Alex Noble,” he said.

Karthik asked the duo whether they believed they resembled each other, leading to a burst of laughter from all three. He even referred to Alex as a “proper doppelganger.” Interestingly, Alex Noble is a sports journalist with BBC Sport.

Karthik had announced his retirement from all formats of cricket in 2024 following the IPL season but later made a comeback, featuring for the Paarl Royals in the SA20 League. Over his career, he played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs, and 60 T20Is for India.

Cheteshwar Pujara’s Last Test Appearance Came in 2023

Cheteshwar Pujara, though yet to officially retire, has not featured in a Test match for India since 2023. It’s been over two years since his last appearance, with the selectors continuing to overlook him for national duties. His most recent outing came during the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia at The Oval in 2023.

He was excluded from the subsequent home series against New Zealand and also missed the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Having made his Test debut in 2010, Pujara has represented India in 103 matches, amassing 7,195 runs at an average of 43.60, including 19 centuries and 35 fifties. At 37, he remains active in the domestic circuit.

In the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season, he played seven games for Saurashtra, scoring 402 runs at an average of 40.20, including a double century. Currently in England, Pujara is serving in a broadcasting role. Despite the absence of senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the selectors have still not considered him for a Test comeback.
