Veteran Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja notched up his fifth Test hundred in emphatic fashion, smashing Harry Brook for a six over long-on and following it up with a distinctive celebration. The milestone came on Day 5 (Sunday, July 27) of the fourth Test against England at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester.
Facing the third delivery of the 141st over during India’s second innings, Jadeja advanced down the pitch to a flighted delivery outside off and lofted it beyond long-on to complete his century in 182 balls. Instead of his usual sword celebration, the 36-year-old opted for a stylish “Pushpa” movie-inspired move—lifting his bat to his forehead and sliding it sideways with flair.
From the dressing room, captain Shubman Gill was seen humorously signaling Jadeja to perform his trademark sword gesture.
