Hardik Pandya has long been a destructive power-hitter for India in the lower order and for the Mumbai Indians in IPL history. Batting mostly at number five or six, the right-handed all-rounder has often unleashed big shots to help his teams finish their innings strongly.

Jasprit Bumrah, on the other hand, is one of India’s premier pacers and a global star across formats. Known for his clever bowling, thunderous yorkers, and variations in pace, Bumrah is also highly effective with the new ball in the powerplay, capable of taking early wickets.

A video, likely from a net session for the Mumbai Indians during IPL 2025, has gone viral on social media, showcasing a battle between Pandya and Bumrah. In the first of a three-ball set, Bumrah delivered a length ball outside off-stump, which Pandya dispatched over the boundary for a six.

The second delivery, a low full toss aimed at Pandya’s legs, was timed perfectly by the batter for a boundary. While Bumrah may have intended a yorker, it ended up as a low full toss. True to form, Bumrah rarely misses his yorkers, and the third ball, targeting the stumps, left Pandya stunned as his wicket was rattled.

Pandya and Bumrah Included in India’s Squad for Asia Cup 2025

Both players have now been named in India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 in the United Arab Emirates, scheduled from September 9 to 28. They will aim to deliver their best performances with the bat and ball, respectively, as India looks to defend the 50-over title they won in 2023.

Suryakumar Yadav will lead the side as captain, with Shubman Gill returning as vice-captain. The squad includes Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson, Harshit Rana, and Rinku Singh.
