India kicked off their Asia Cup 2025 preparations with their first training session on Friday, where head coach Gautam Gambhir delivered an uplifting message to the players ahead of the tournament in the UAE. The competition begins on September 9, with India targeting another major trophy following their T20 World Cup victory last year.
All-rounder Shivam Dube, a vital contributor to India’s 2024 World Cup success, shared the motivational words Gautam Gambhir conveyed to the squad.
“Whenever you play for your country, you have the opportunity to do something new. So it was about making use of that training and trying to become a better cricketer,” Dube said in a video posted by the BCCI on social media.
Dube, who strengthens the team with his middle-order power-hitting and useful seam bowling, will be keen to cement his place in the playing XI and build on his progress under Gambhir’s mentorship.
