Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir took part in a light-hearted segment during the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 final on Sunday, August 31. In the summit clash, Nitish Rana’s West Delhi Lions outplayed the Central Delhi Kings by six wickets to lift the trophy at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The following day, September 1, the DPL’s official Instagram handle released a clip of Gambhir playing a rapid-fire game where he had to associate the first cricketer that came to mind with specific tags. For “Clutch,” he instantly named Sachin Tendulkar. The label “Desi Boy” went to Virat Kohli, “Speed” to Jasprit Bumrah, and “Golden Arm” to Nitish Rana.

Current Test captain Shubman Gill was chosen as the “Most Stylish,” while ex-head coach Rahul Dravid earned the title of “Mr. Consistent.” Gambhir further tagged VVS Laxman as the “Run Machine,” Rishabh Pant as the “Most Funny,” and Zaheer Khan as the “Death Over Specialist.”

Gautam Gambhir Opens Up About A Special Moment At Arun Jaitley

At the DPL 2025 final, Gautam Gambhir opened up about his most cherished memory at his home ground, Arun Jaitley Stadium. He reminisced about his career-best Test innings of 206 against Australia in 2008, sharing:

“Obviously, my highest Test score is against Australia, I got 200 on this ground. So, scoring a double hundred at home in front of your family members, it can’t get better than that.”

Gambhir appeared in 242 international matches for India across all formats, amassing 10,324 runs at an average of 38.95, with 20 centuries and 63 half-centuries. He was also an integral part of the Indian squads that lifted the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup.
