[WATCH]- Rohit Sharma Shares Laughs With Team Physio And Ex-Coach

Team India’s ODI captain Rohit Sharma was recently spotted spending time with physiotherapist Amit Dubey and former national team assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. During the interaction, Dubey chuckled as Rohit playfully urged him to tell Nayar why he was laughing so loudly. The clip quickly made rounds on social media.

Nayar, whose contract with the BCCI was recently ended, had been appointed by India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir and was part of the squad that guided the Men in Blue to victory in the 2025 Champions Trophy in the UAE in March. Dubey, on the other hand, has previously worked with Rohit Sharma during his stint with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

In the video shared on X, the 38-year-old said:

“That’s Abhishek Nayar, by the way. Whether he plays, whether he coaches and whether he is on his bed. he is always stiff.”

In response, Nayar stated:

“I’m flexible when I coach.”

The joke had both Rohit Sharma and Amit Dubey laughing, with Rohit remarking:

“Kya Dubey ji, itna khush kyun ho rahe ho bhai? (Dubey ji, why are you so happy?)”

Rohit Sharma Set For Possible India Return On Australia Tour

On the field, the Nagpur-born star hasn’t represented India since his standout performance in the 2025 Champions Trophy final against New Zealand in Dubai. Rohit Sharma was named Player of the Match for his 76-run innings, helping the Men in Blue secure the prestigious trophy for the third time.

Having retired from T20Is and Test cricket, Rohit will now focus solely on India’s 50-over format. His return to the national team is expected during the Australia tour in October. The seasoned batter hasn’t played competitive cricket since IPL 2025, when the Punjab Kings knocked out the Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2.

He had a solid tournament, scoring 418 runs across 15 matches at a strike rate of 149.28.
