Athiya Shetty, wife of Indian cricketer KL Rahul, posted a touching message after the right-hander reached his 11th Test century on Day 2 (Friday, October 3) of the opening match in the two-Test series against the West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Resuming from his overnight score of 53, Rahul batted with composure on Day 2, steadily rotating the strike.
Though he lost skipper Shubman Gill (50) at the other end, he went on to complete his century off 190 deliveries, his second hundred on home soil, amazing the fans with his brilliant innings. Athiya reacted to the milestone by sharing an Instagram story with a picture of Rahul celebrating his ton, along with a heartfelt caption.

However, the 33-year-old was unable to push on for a bigger score and eventually fell for 100 off 197 deliveries, which featured 12 boundaries. With this knock in his 64th Test, Rahul’s career tally stands at 3,889 runs at an average of 36.00, including 19 half-centuries and 11 hundreds.
KL Rahul Drives India Ahead, Lead Crosses 100
On Day 1 (Thursday, October 2), West Indies struggled after choosing to bat, being bowled out for 162 in 44.1 overs. Mohammed Siraj led India’s attack with impressive figures of 4/40 from 14 overs. In reply, India finished the day at 121/2 after 38 overs, with KL Rahul on 53 and Shubman Gill on 18. The duo continued their partnership into Day 2, adding 98 runs for the third wicket.
Gill was dismissed for 50 off 100 balls, while Rahul went on to score a brilliant century, finishing with 100 off 197 deliveries. Since then, Dhruv Jurel and Ravindra Jadeja have steadily steadied the innings. At the time of reporting, India were 266/4 after 80 overs, leading by 104 runs, with Jurel on 36 and Jadeja on 26.
