Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting stirred controversy when he called out Ravichandran Ashwin for Mankading act during IPL 2019. Calling it as against the spirit of the game, Ponting said he doesn’t want the same in Delhi. It triggered a debate among the fans; however, Ashwin has downplayed the comments.

Meanwhile, Ashwin had famously dismissed England’s Jos Buttler at the non-striker’s end in a game between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals which sparked a lot of debate. The Indian off-spinner is unapologetic about it and continues to advocate the legitimacy of the dismissal.
