Australian pacer Nathan Ellis dismissed Shivam Dube in an unflattering fashion during the fourth T20I against India at Carrara Oval, Gold Coast, on Thursday, November 6. The wicket marked Ellis’ first breakthrough of the innings and handed the hosts a crucial advantage.

The incident took place in the 12th over when skipper Mitchell Marsh brought Ellis back for his second spell. Delivering an off-cutter aimed at middle and leg, the 31-year-old cramped the left-hander for room as Dube attempted a flick toward the leg side. However, the ball deflected onto the leg stump, sending Dube back to the pavilion for 22 off 18 balls.

Coming in to bat at No. 3, Shivam Dube showcased his power early by hitting a boundary off Ben Dwarshuis and launching a massive six against Adam Zampa. However, he couldn’t build on the start and failed to convert it into a substantial innings.

Nathan Ellis Removes Shubman Gill For 46

Nathan Ellis struck again, claiming the crucial wicket of Shubman Gill, who scored 46 off 39 balls. The Australian pacer delivered a back-of-the-hand slower ball, tempting the Indian vice-captain into an attempted slog over mid-wicket. However, Gill missed the shot completely, and the ball went on to crash into the leg stump, giving Ellis his second wicket of the innings.

Earlier, Australia skipper Mitchell Marsh won the toss once more and chose to bowl first. The hosts made four changes to their lineup, with Josh Philippe, Ben Dwarshuis, Glenn Maxwell, and Adam Zampa replacing Travis Head, Sean Abbott, Mitch Owen, and Matt Kuhnemann. India, on the other hand, fielded an unchanged XI.

Abhishek Sharma was the first to depart, falling to Adam Zampa for 28. The five-match series remains evenly poised at 1-1 — after the opening game was washed out, Australia triumphed in Melbourne by four wickets, while India bounced back with a five-wicket victory in Hobart.
