Former cricketer Wasim Jaffer gave a witty reply to Michael Vaughan after the latter poked fun at him following India’s 2-0 home series loss to South Africa. Vaughan tagged Jaffer and wrote, “Don’t worry, I know how you are feeling,” to which Jaffer hinted that Vaughan might soon feel the same for four more Tests, as England are already 1-0 down in the Ashes.
Australia defeated England by eight wickets in Perth inside two days, and with the next Test in Brisbane being a pink-ball match, England are under huge pressure. India, on the other hand, suffered a 2-0 series sweep to South Africa, their second at home within a year. Replying to Vaughan’s remark, Wasim Jaffer said:
“My feeling will be over soon. You have to bear it for 4 more Tests Micheal.”

“What’s The Harm In Two Days Of Pink-Ball Cricket?”- Vaughan
After the first Ashes Test, Michael Vaughan firmly suggested that Ben Stokes and his team should play a two-day warm-up match against the Prime Minister’s XI to give themselves the best preparation for the Brisbane Test. Speaking on BBC Test Match Special, as reported by ESPNcricinfo, he said:
“It’s amateurish if they don’t go and play now. What harm is playing two days of cricket with a pink ball under lights? They’ve played two days of cricket. They’ve been out in the field for, what, 70 [67.3] overs? Look, they’re professional cricketers.”
“I can’t be so old-school to suggest that by playing cricket, you might get a little bit better… My method would be, you’ve got a pink-ball, two-day game: you go and grab it, go and take it. Play those two days, and make sure that you’re giving yourself the best chance.”
