[WATCH]- Teammate’s Funny Dig At Yashasvi Jaiswal After His First ODI Hundred
Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal

Team India’s batting ace Rohit Sharma playfully teased Yashasvi Jaiswal after the youngster smashed his first ODI century in the third match against South Africa in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, December 6. Rohit jokingly pointed out how relaxed the left-hander appeared once he crossed the 75-run mark.

After struggling to get past 30 in the opening two games of the series, Jaiswal bounced back in style, registering an unbeaten 116 as India comfortably chased down 271 with nine wickets in hand. He also stitched a crucial 116-run partnership with Virat Kohli for the second wicket.

In a clip posted by the Indian team on Instagram, Rohit was seen animatedly telling head coach Gautam Gambhir about the moment.

“70 tak. Jaise 75 dikhega. Bhai sahab comfortable dikhe. (He looked quite comfortable after reaching 75.)”

In response, Yashasvi Jaiswal stated:

“Bhaiya bole khel 50 tak. Uske baad maar. (Brother told me try to play cautiously until 50 and keep dishing out the big hits.)”

Jaiswal acknowledged the support he received from the senior members of the squad during his rough patch. He further stated:

“Very special. I’m very happy and grateful and blessed. It’s very emotional for me because I always dreamt of this that one day I will have a century for India in ODIs. So, I made it. It’s really important because I was trying so hard to convert those starts but I couldn’t.”

“The same thing I was thinking, the minute I’ll come and get set, I’ll make sure that I’ll play as deep as possible and make sure to finish the game. I’m so blessed to have my seniors, the way they have been talking to me when I’m not doing well. Genuinely, I feel blessed to play with them.”
