In a dramatic match of the second Nepal Premier League edition, Karnali Yaks made a stunning upset by winning over Janakpur Bolts, the titleholders. The win came in the last league-stage match on Sunday, when Karnali managed to beat the reigning titleholders by just three runs.

The outcome was a watershed moment in the competition as Karnali showed their fighting ability against the experienced and successful Janakpur team.

Janakpur Bolts were restricted to 126 runs

Karnali Yaks shocked the world with an incredible upset as they came out victorious over the previously unbeaten Janakpur Bolts by three runs in the final league match of the second season of the Nepal Premier League. The game was held at TU International Cricket Ground, where Janakpur, who were chasing a target of 130 runs, were unable to reach their target and ended up with only 126 runs for six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Imran Sheikh was the hero of the day for the Karnali team, being the highest scorer with 33 runs and then leading the team to victory. Meanwhile, Janakpur bowlers Aditya Mehta and Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi gave a tough fight to the batsmen as they each took two wickets, sharing the scoring throughout the match.
Even though the match didn’t go in their favor, Janakpur Bolts revealed individual excellence bat by bat. Sanjay Krishnamurthy was in the spotlight with a half-century; he was the top scorer with 51 runs and also this was his second fifty this season.
