The Indian cricket team has arrived in eastern Odisha for the next phase of their ongoing all-format home series against South Africa. After being whitewashed in the two-match Test series, Team India bounced back to claim a 2-1 victory in the ODI series.
The first two ODIs were thrilling encounters, but India completely dominated the third match to secure the series win. Now, all attention turns to the final part of South Africa’s tour, which is the shortest format of the game. The five-match T20I series will begin in Odisha, starting with the series opener between the Men in Blue and the Proteas.
Ahead of the limited-overs clash, the Indian players and members of the coaching staff arrived in Bhubaneswar, the capital city of the state, ready for the upcoming challenge.

Players such as Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, and Kuldeep Yadav, along with head coach Gautam Gambhir, reached Hotel Mayfair Lagoon in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, where they were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff. The South African men’s cricket team also checked in at the same hotel.
Furthermore, security measures around the hotel have been strengthened during the teams’ stay.
OCA President Confirms Barabati Stadium Ready For Upcoming T20I Match
After arriving in Bhubaneswar, the Indian and South African cricket teams are set to begin training on Monday. Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, President of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), confirmed that both teams will hold their practice sessions at Barabati Stadium on the same day.

Mohanty also assured that the stadium in Cuttack is fully prepared to host the T20I clash. He stated that all arrangements have been completed and highlighted that cricket fans can look forward to an exciting match at the venue. The Indian team, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will face the South African side, captained by Aiden Markram, in a T20I match scheduled for December 9, 2025, at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
