Team India’s players and support staff enjoyed a movie night on Monday, December 15, ahead of the crucial fourth T20I against South Africa in Lucknow. A video shared on social media showed head coach Gautam Gambhir and wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson sharing a light-hearted moment as they walked towards the exit.
Gambhir has faced criticism over Samson’s absence from the playing XI despite Shubman Gill’s struggles at the top of the order. However, the team management has continued to back Gill to rediscover his form in the remaining matches before the T20 World Cup 2026 begins on February 7.
The ODI and Test skipper showed signs of a turnaround in the third T20I at Dharamsala, scoring 28 off 28 balls. Here is the video of Team India players from the movie night:

With the Men in Blue holding a 2-1 lead in the five-match series, they head into the fourth game brimming with confidence. The hosts produced a near-flawless display in Dharamsala, registering a dominant seven-wicket victory.
Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana struck early with the new ball, while Varun Chakaravarthy impressed with superb figures of 2/11 in four overs as South Africa were bowled out for 117. In the chase, Abhishek Sharma provided a brisk start with a 35 off 18 balls, helping India wrap up the target in just 15.5 overs.
Team India Unbeaten In T20Is Played In Lucknow
Meanwhile, India boast a perfect record in T20Is at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, having won all three matches played there. They hammered West Indies by 71 runs in 2018, followed it up with a 62-run victory over Sri Lanka in 2022, and most recently defeated New Zealand by six wickets in early 2023.
South Africa, on the other hand, will be eager to draw the series level and push it to a decider after showing mixed form so far. The visitors suffered a heavy 101-run defeat in the opening game but responded strongly with a 51-run win in the second T20I. Their batting, however, struggled once again in the third match, with Aiden Markram standing tall in a lone effort of 61.
