Team India star Rohit Sharma appeared visibly annoyed at Mumbai airport as he confronted paparazzi for filming him while he was leaving for Jaipur ahead of the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. A video that later went viral on social media platform X showed the senior batter admonishing the photographers and firmly asking them to stop recording.

Rohit arrived in Jaipur late on Monday alongside Mumbai skipper Shardul Thakur for the first two matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26. Placed in Group C, Mumbai will begin their campaign against Sikkim on December 24 before taking on Uttarakhand a few days later. Here’s the clip of the 38-year-old’s exchange with the paparazzi, where he can be heard saying:

“Arre band karo” (Stop the recording.)

Mumbai’s squad features several well-known names, including Siddhesh Lad, Sarfaraz Khan, Musheer Khan, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Hardik Tamore, Shams Mulani, and Tanush Kotian.

Rohit Sharma Leads ICC ODI Batting Rankings

Rohit Sharma will be eager to extend his rich vein of form and make a strong impact in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Nagpur-born batter surged to the top of the ICC ODI rankings following an outstanding performance in the 50-over series against Australia, where he amassed 202 runs across three innings, highlighted by a century in Sydney.

He then maintained that momentum at home against South Africa, registering two quick-fire half-centuries in the three-match ODI series. Rohit last featured in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2018, when Mumbai faced Hyderabad in the semi-final at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium. Although he was dismissed for 17, Mumbai went on to win the contest.

Across 18 matches in the tournament, the seasoned campaigner has accumulated 581 runs at an average of 38.73, including one hundred and three fifties. Meanwhile, Karnataka enter the competition as defending champions after overcoming Vidarbha in the 2024–25 final.
