Indo-Canadian singer-rapper and record producer AP Dhillon invited Team India opener Abhishek Sharma on stage during his Jaipur concert, with the Men in Blue preparing to host New Zealand. India are set to take on the Kiwis in a home series comprising three ODIs and five T20Is in January 2026.
Currently on his ‘One of One -India Tour’, AP Dhillon has been performing across multiple cities in the country. He took the stage in Jaipur on Sunday, December 28, where Abhishek Sharma was among those in attendance. The singer later called the star batter up on stage, prompting loud cheers and an enthusiastic response from the crowd.
“Punjabi munda aaya hai yaar itthe (The Punjabi guy is here friends),” AP said.
Abhishek was dressed in a black shirt and matching pants, with his chain on display. He sported a broad smile as the crowd kept cheering loudly and applauding him.
“I hope you are enjoying the show,” AP asked Abhishek while escorting him off the stage after the introduction.
The Indian cricket star later posted a video of the moment on his Instagram account, along with the caption:
“Different arena, same roar Thank you Jaipur (sic).”

In a separate clip, Abhishek was seen enjoying one of AP Dhillon’s performances, grooving to the music as the singer took the stage. The star batter appeared to be singing along and thoroughly soaking in the moment.

India Opener Abhishek Sharma Looks To Maintain Momentum Against New Zealand
The five-match T20I series against New Zealand is set to get underway on January 21, and Abhishek Sharma will be eager to take his red-hot form into the contest. The series also holds added significance as it will be India’s final T20I assignment before the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Abhishek Sharma enjoyed an outstanding 2025 in T20Is, amassing 859 runs in 21 matches at an impressive average of 42.95 and a blistering strike rate of 193.46, which included one century and five half-centuries.
He was equally dominant in domestic cricket, scoring 304 runs in six outings in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025–26 at an average of 50.66 and a remarkable strike rate of 249.18, featuring a century and two fifties.
With the 2026 T20 World Cup fast approaching, Team India will be hoping Abhishek Sharma continues his prolific run-scoring against New Zealand and carries his form into the marquee tournament.
