The KKR pacer Harshit Rana, not long ago, revealed a funny episode in which he was involved with the Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and actress Anushka Sharma. The incident is a demonstration of Kohli’s funny side and his knack for making others feel comfortable around him. What was supposed to be a short and formal introduction quickly turned into an unforgettable moment, which Rana still considers funny.
Rana’s first meeting with Anushka was a mix of respect and formal manners on his part. He called her “Ma’am,” thinking that this was the best way to greet a stranger. But Kohli jumped in right away with a joking correction.
Kohli proposed another way of calling Anushka: “Do not call her in that manner and call her bhabhi instead.” The superstar further explained his request to Anushka by saying that it was the same guy who just moments before was throwing champagne on him outside. This jokingly created the scenario that turned the whole thing into a truly funny one.
The trio couldn’t help but laugh at how ridiculous the whole thing was. Rana recalled the incident and said, “He is very funny.” The funny part was that someone might misinterpret the whole thing as a situation of conflict when, in reality, Kohli had just used his wit to turn the public event into a private little joke. Thus, a potentially awkward first meeting became an unforgettable story.

Harshit Rana has lately disclosed the misconceptions that he once had about the leading players in Indian cricket. Having been part of the national team, the young fast bowler was only able to see these cricketers via television, which eventually led him to a wrong perception about who they were personally.
“I had a perception regarding Virat and Hardik that they would be aggressive because I had seen them on TV only. I thought they scared everyone. But when I met them in real life, they were very funny and are totally different in real life,” he said.
Rana has so far made strong credentials in the international cricket circuit. The pacer has been credited with two Test matches, thirteen ODI matches, and six T20 international matches, making him a valuable candidate among the promising talents of the Indian team.
