Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who stunned everyone by making his IPL debut at just 14 for Rajasthan Royals in April 2025, continues to attract attention with his performances. He grabbed headlines after smashing a sensational 35-ball century against Gujarat Giants in Jaipur on April 28, which became the fastest hundred by an Indian in IPL history.
Now representing India U19 in the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2026, the young batter has already featured in three matches for the Ayush Mhatre-led side. With one well-made half-century of 72, he has accumulated 114 runs so far in the tournament. Given his fearless reputation and natural flair, Vaibhav is expected to play a decisive role for India as the competition progresses.
Yuvraj Singh’s Praise And Bold Prediction
Ahead of the Super Six stage of the tournament, where India are scheduled to face Zimbabwe on January 27 and Pakistan on February 1, former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh lavished praise on the teenager and offered a confident assessment of his future. The 2011 ODI World Cup Player of the Series highlighted Vaibhav’s fearless mindset and ability to take on quality bowling without hesitation.
“I think Vaibhav is a great talent. He’s pretty fearless in his approach. You know, when he’s consistent against strong teams, this is where he will realise his talent. What I like about him is his fearless approach. And I’ve seen him batting in the nets against some really premium fast bowlers. And he’s not afraid to hook or pull the ball when the ball is actually travelling fast around his neck. This is where I see a lot of potential for his future for India,” Yuvraj said in a video shared by ICC on Instagram.

In India’s most recent U19 World Cup 2026 match against New Zealand, he opened the innings alongside Aaron George in a 136-run chase at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. Playing with freedom, he struck two fours and three sixes on his way to a quick 40 off just 23 balls, once again showcasing why he is seen as a key figure for India’s campaign going forward.
