BCCI on Thursday, May 14, unveiled India A’s squad for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka scheduled for June. Several standout performers from IPL 2026 earned spots in the squad, including Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who received his maiden call-up.
Suryavanshi has enjoyed a remarkable IPL 2026 campaign so far, scoring 440 runs in 11 matches at an average of 40.00 and an explosive strike rate of 236.55. The tri-series will feature Sri Lanka A, India A, and Afghanistan A.
Apart from Suryavanshi, notable players such as Tilak Varma, Priyansh Arya, Riyan Parag, Prabhsimran Singh, and Anshul Kamboj were also included in the squad. The ODI tri-series is set to begin on June 9, 2026, with Sri Lanka A facing India A in the opening match.
Every game of the white-ball tournament will be held in Dambulla. Tilak Varma, the Mumbai Indians batter, has been named captain of the Indian side, while Riyan Parag, skipper of Rajasthan Royals, will serve as vice-captain.

India A will next face Afghanistan A on June 11 before taking on Sri Lanka A on June 15. They will then meet Afghanistan A once again on June 17, while the final of the tri-series is scheduled for Sunday, June 21.
India A Set To Feature In Red-Ball Series Against Sri Lanka A
Following the completion of the ODI tri-series, India A will also take part in a red-ball series against Sri Lanka A. The two sides are scheduled to play two multi-day matches, although the fixtures and squads for the series are yet to be confirmed. As for the white-ball tri-series, the tournament presents a significant platform for several emerging talents who have impressed with their performances in IPL 2026.
While players like Tilak Varma and Riyan Parag already have some experience at the higher level, attention will also be on youngsters such as Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Nishant Sindhu, Harsh Dubey, Suryansh Shedge, Prabhsimran Singh, and Priyansh Arya to see how they fare on the international stage.
