[WATCH]- Eshan Malinga Produces Stunning Yorker to Clean Up Dewald Brevis in CSK vs SRH Clash

Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Eshan Malinga delivered a crucial breakthrough by dismissing Dewald Brevis during the IPL 2026 clash against Chennai Super Kings at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium on Monday, May 18. The right-arm seamer responded brilliantly after being hit for a six earlier in the over, cleaning up Brevis with a scorching delivery clocked above 141 kmph.

The wicket came in the 18th over of CSK’s innings when Malinga bowled a sharp back-of-a-length delivery outside off stump. Brevis attempted an aggressive pull shot but mistimed it completely as the ball jagged back in, sneaked under the bat, and shattered the stumps. The SRH pacer then celebrated the key wicket with an animated send-off.

Dewald Brevis scored a quickfire 44 off 27 deliveries at a strike rate of 162.96, smashing four sixes and two fours during his entertaining knock. It also marked his highest score of the IPL 2026 season so far. Meanwhile, Eshan Malinga continued his impressive campaign with the ball.

The Sri Lankan all-rounder has now picked up 17 wickets in 13 matches, the most by any Sunrisers Hyderabad bowler this season.

Dewald Brevis & Shivam Dube Power CSK to 180 Against SRH in IPL 2026 Clash

Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube played crucial knocks to guide Chennai Super Kings to 180/6 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL 2026 clash. Brevis top-scored with 44, while Dube contributed 26 off 23 balls as the pair stitched together an important 59-run stand after CSK slipped to 100/4.

Kartik Sharma and Sanju Samson also made valuable contributions with 32 off 19 and 27 off 13 deliveries respectively. SRH skipper Pat Cummins impressed with the ball, returning figures of 3/28, while Sakib Hussain picked up two wickets.

The visitors effectively used slower deliveries and variations in pace to trouble CSK’s top-order batters. The Chennai Super Kings side, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, need a win to stay in contention for the IPL 2026 playoffs.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad will aim to strengthen their chances of securing a top-two finish ahead of the knockout stage. The last meeting between the two teams in 2026 saw SRH successfully defend 194 and register a 10-run victory over CSK in Hyderabad.
